How did your teen do with their skill challenge from last week? Did you have some laughs as I predicted? I sure hope so.
This week, I want to check on vocabulary related to cooking. Why? Because we ALL LOVE TO EAT! And although frozen food that can be microwaved or fast food from the drive-in window is convenient (and necessary at times) … I want the next generation to know how to cook whole foods from all four food groups. I’m sure you do too. My personal children love to cook and have dishes they prepare that put mine to shame and it is wonderful to be on the receiving end of those meals (although that means I have to do the dishes).
My grandmothers passed down wonderful recipes to me and I have several “community cookbooks” that have numerous earmarked pages, but young people today get most recipes from the internet (and I have too … you?). So, since many teens have the desire to cook, let’s make sure they have the vocab to make yummy meals.
Let’s cover 10 cooking oriented vocab words … challenge your teen’s ability to define each:
- Al dente
- Freezer Burn
Make the most of your day!
